This is quite a popular evergreen coniferous plant variety that is commonly grown for its ornamental purposes. It is native to Canada and parts of Northern America, where it is known by names like the Eastern White Cedar and traded with the name ‘Arborvitae’ which translates to the name ‘The tree of Life’ owing to the medicinal properties of it’s barks, twigs and sap. It also has rich traditional threads connecting it to several cultures.
